Why I Don’t Hate Texas

This post feels like a cheat because there are no words and these photos are three years old.  And I lost the original files and had to steal them from my own facebook album.  We won’t be sightseeing this weekend, though, so I doubt I’ll see anything as weird or awesome as I did the first time I went to Texas.*

*Excluding many trips across the panhandle and brief stopovers in Amarillo.  Speaking of Amarillo, here’s a funny story.  I took an epic roadtrip in 2008 with a friend who’d never been west of the Mississippi and another friend from California who’d never spent any time in the middle of the country.  The logistics of the roadtrip necessitated a night in Amarillo, at which point my friend who is too cool for her own good and did not understand that we were in the country’s largest truck stop got frustrated when we couldn’t find anything to do that wasn’t fast food and asked me to google “hipster bars in Amarillo.”

Haha, so if you do google “hipster bars in Amarillo” now, you get one hit for the R&R bar and you get a link to this post!
